Albea sparkling wines: Odegitria, R'osé and Ruffiano

For a toast at dinner or on the best occasions, sparkling wine is a must at every celebration and for every special moment, and for a summer happy hour with friends too.
Our winery makes three sparkling wines, each with its own unmistakable personality: Odegitria, R'osé and Ruffiano. Let's get to know them.

Odegitria and R'osé, elegant spice

Odegitria (named after the Madonna who gave the Valle d'Itria its name) is a Brut sparkling wine made from Minutolo, Bianco d'Alessano, Maresco and Verdeca grapes from our vineyards between Locorotondo and Martina Franca. It is made with the traditional method, with a second fermentation in the bottle. The second fermentation starts the following summer and the wine rests on its lees for 48 months; after disgorging, each bottle is topped up with the same sparkling wine, with no liqueur d'expédition, just as time has slowly shaped it: a pas dosé, with no added dosage. A rare example of a traditional-method sparkling wine made from the white grapes of the Valle d'Itria in harmony.

R'OSÉ is made instead with a natural fermentation in an autoclave tank: here the wine rests on its lees in 50 hl tanks for only 5 months, giving a fruitier, lighter sparkling wine for summer evenings, in which Uva di Troia shows its elegant, refined character.

It has a pale pink colour, a fine and persistent perlage and a soft mousse that never dominates, with a rich and varied bouquet of climbing roses and strawberry. To make the most of its aromas, serve it with a dinner of raw seafood: it is excellent with shellfish and sublime with raw langoustines on ice.

Ruffiano, fresh minerality

Ruffiano is a brut sparkling wine made from 100% Fiano di Puglia grapes from the vineyards of Locorotondo and Martina Franca. It goes through two fermentations: the first in stainless steel at 14 °C, the second in an autoclave tank at 15 °C up to 6 atmospheres for 40 days. It then rests in the bottle for 2 months.
Its sensory profile is truly interesting: a pale greenish-yellow colour and a fine perlage that brings out its freshness and lively fruit, with herbaceous notes, fresh minerality and young fruit on the nose. Its alcohol content is 12% vol.
As well as being perfect as an aperitif, it goes well with starters, risottos, white meat or fish.
